Code Orange is working hard to improve the speed, security and service for websites in Thailand.
We would like to share our insights to keep you and your agency in the loop:
Speed is so important. 5-10 seconds loading time seems nice, but it means lost business. Aim for faster. 1-2 seconds. Use good hosting. Use caching. Use our CDN (it’s free!). Use our speedtest. The only one in Thailand.
Smartphones are used on average 5 hours per day, and 50-60% accesses the internet using their mobile phone (which is expected to rise to 80%), so be sure to design for mobile first!
Always use our SSL (it’s free!) to keep connections to websites secure. Keep your WordPress websites and plugins up to date. Install a security plugin like WordFence. And keep your theme up to date as well: it’s as vulnerable (if not more!) as a plugin. Delete plugins you don’t need. Don’t just disable them.
All web applications should be updated so they work on PHP 7+. PHP 5 was deprecated last December, but at Code Orange we use Debian Linux, which keeps PHP 5 secure until the end of this year. So that gives you a bit extra time to upgrade all apps before then. And when ready, let us know, so we can switch your app to PHP 7 for testing.
